Mornè Gouws

Morne Gouws is a qualified South African Attorney.  He graduated from the University of South Africa with a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and also earned a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of South Africa in 2007, and a Master’s Degree in Law (International Commercial Law) from the University of Johannesburg in 2017.

Morne worked at Roarty & Co. Legal Costs Accountants from 2019 to 2021, and recently returned to Roarty & Co. after working in positions that broadened his exposure to the legal industry in Ireland.  Morne’s return underlines his keen interest in the area of legal costs accountancy.

During his time away from the office, Morne gained valuable experience while managing a varied caseload in a busy legal office environment.   This hands-on experience and day to day exposure to a multitude of legal tasks and challenges has perfectly primed Morne for his return to the role of a Legal Costs Accountant with us.

Morne has a substantial understanding of Irish legal practice and procedures.  He therefore has a real appreciation for legal costs, both from the perspective of a fee earner and as a legal costs accountant.

Morne has appeared at taxations before County Registrars in Circuit Court jurisdictions and before the Legal Costs Adjudicators in Dublin.  He has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and his attention to detail and analytical approach ensures work of the highest quality.

Morne is a member of the Irish Institute of Legal Costs Accountants (ILCA).
